Community of Alderville Holds Remembrance Service

The community of Alderville, north of Cobourg held their Remembrance Day ceremony on November 7, 2021.

Community members, dignitaries marched from the Alderville Community Centre at 1 p.m. to the cenotaph.

Dignitaries including Alderville veterans, Anishinabek Nation Grand Chief Reg Niganobe, Regional District Grand Chief Jim Bob Marsden, MP Philp Lawrence, MPP David Piccini, Alnwick/Haldimand Township Mayer Gail Latchford, members of the Cobourg Legion Branch 133, Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums and members of the Northumberland OPP.
Alderville First Nation Chief Dave Mowat read the names of the fallen before the laying of the family wreaths including, Beaver, Bigwin, Blaker, Comego, Chase, Chubb, Tobico, Crowe, Franklin, Gray, Loukes, Marsden, Simpson, Smoke and Sunday.

Then after members of the Federal, Provincial and local government also placed wreathes at the cenotaph.
