Port Hope Police – Driver Charged with Obstruct Police

On Sunday October 31, 2021, while on general patrol, observed a motor vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the North end of Port Hope, and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver provided a false name to police, when instructed to identify himself with a driver’s license.

As a result of the investigation 27-year-old Port Hope resident Dustin WESENBERG was charged with the following:

1. Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Drive motor vehicle- no license contrary to section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

WESENBERG was released on an Appearance Notice, and Summons, with a future court date.
