Quinte West OPP – E-Bike Operator Charged

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged the operator of an E-Bike following a traffic stop in Trenton.

On September 6, 2021, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Quinte West OPP officer on patrol observed an E-Bike operator driving carelessly at the intersection of Ford Street and Front Street. The accused drove the E-Bik e onto a trail and was intercepted by the officer. The accused was confirmed to be prohibited from operating a motorized vehicle under the criminal code and was subsequently arrested.

Roberto Biasini, 53 years old of Quinte West has been charged with operation while prohibited, contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) if the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 14, 2021. Additionally, their E-Bike was impounded for 45 days.
