Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department responded to a corn field on fire north of Grafton on Friday, May 14, 2021.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. crews responded to the fire in a cornfield with leftover stock.

Assistance was called from Cramahe Township Fire Department along with Trent Hills Fire Department.

High winds fanned the flames across the fire which consumed approximately four acres.

A piece of farm machinery circled the perimeter of the fire helping to create a fire break to help stop the blaze from spreading.
