With a new roadwork season upon us, Northumberland County has released its 2021 Construction Program, including a detailed list and map outlining work planned for county roads during the 2021 construction season.

The 2021 Construction Program includes:

· More than 13 km. of paving

· More than 17 km. of surface treatment

· The rehabilitation of Dartford Bridge

· Culvert replacement and rehabilitation

· Intersection improvements

· Rail crossing improvements

· More than 40 km. of asphalt-preservation work, such as crack sealing and micro-surfacing

In addition to these projects, work to repair potholes, rutting, and wear and tear will also occur throughout the county.

A full list of projects and a map pinpointing their locations is available at https://www.northumberland.ca/en/living-here/annual-construction-program.aspx#

The county reminds drivers to proceed slowly, stay alert and be patient while navigating through construction zones. Where lane restrictions are required, traffic-control measures will be in place to direct traffic flow.

Construction crews will be working hard to help improve our local roads and infrastructure, the announcement said. For your safety and the safety of these workers, please drive with care through construction zones.
