OPP Investigating Two Transport Collisions Involving The Same Driver

Northumberland OPP are investigating two incidents where a transport truck went into the ditch on Thursday, April 15, 2021.


At 8:30 a.m. emergency services including Cobourg Fire Department, Hamilton Township Fire Department, Northumberland County Paramedics and Northumberland OPP were dispatched to Highway 401 westbound approximately two kilometres west of Burnham Street for a transport truck that had gone into the ditch.


The transport truck slowly drifted over onto the shoulder and into the ditch going up an embankment striking a number of tress before coming to a stop.


The driver wasn’t seriously injured.


Police are also investigating a collision involving the same transport/driver on Highway 401 westbound near Odessa at approximately 3 a.m.


A transport went into the ditch, but there was minimal to no damage and carried on after a period of time.


A representative of the company confirmed to Today’s Northumberland the same driver was involved in both collisions.

Northumberland OPP are investigating the collision in Hamilton Township.
