Don’t Take Unnecessary Risks On The Ice

In Local, Weather

It was a beautiful day for a walk along the shoreline of Lake Ontario in Cobourg on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

There was thick ice that formed on the trees along the west break wall after the windy weather of last week churned up the lake.

Walking was a bit precarious because of ice in areas.

Some people ventured onto the ice near the lighthouse on the inner harbour and on the icebergs to the west of the break wall.

Officials advise to always use caution and just because the ice appears safe – it may not be.
