Alnwick Haldimand Council Responds To Fire Chief’s Termination

Yesterday, Monday, January 18, 2021, Mr. Mark Diminie was relieved of his duties, as Fire Chief, with the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand. Mr. Diminie was with the Township for over two years, after retiring from his former position.

It needs to be understood, that any action such as this are not taken lightly. Actions such as this are not taken based on a difference of opinion.

Many factors went into this decision, and Council felt the decision was in the best interest of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, and it is very unfortunate that one-sided allegations have been published in the media.

As this is a personnel matter, no further comments will be made at this time.
