Transport Rolls Into Ditch On Highway 401 West of Cobourg

In Local, Police Blotter

A transport truck flipped on its side along Highway 401 just west of Cobourg on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

At approximately 4 a.m. the transport was heading eastbound on Highway 401 when it went into the south ditch and rolled on its side approximately two kilometres west of Burnham Street.

There were no injuries in the collision and the transport stayed in the ditch until the weather, which was snowing heavily along with icy conditions cleared.

At approximately 10 a.m. a heavy tow company arrived on Lovshin Road which was the closest area to access the transport until highway crews were available for lane closures.

A television crew of four people were also on scene to document the removal of the transport along with a number of tow vehicles.
