No Injuries After Trailer Rolls Over On Highway 401 East of Grafton

Traffic was backed up for several kilometres after a trailer rolled over on Highway 401 east of Grafton.

Northumberland OPP were notified of the incident at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

A pickup was hauling a trailer loaded with dry cement and other construction items when the driver had to take evasive action because of an aggressive driver on Highway 401 east of Grafton in the eastbound lanes near the Vernonville Road overpass.

The trailer flipped over and the contents scattered across the highway.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 east of Grafton was stopped for approximately 15-minutes while a crane was brought in to remove the trailer.

Traffic was backed up west of Grafton and some drivers backed up the on-ramp to avoid being temporarily delayed.

Police advise if anyone is caught backing up an on-ramp they could face charges.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
