Cobourg Council – Library Reopens August 24

In City Hall

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
Cobourg Councillor Adam Bureau announced at council Monday that the Cobourg Public Library will reopen to the public Aug. 24.

A lobby greeter will be stationed at the entry to ensure anyone entering the library uses the hand sanitizers.

The curbside-hold staffer will handle all holds, and will continue to offer curbside pick-ups where they are requested.

“In order to accommodate health and safety for our staff and patrons, three of the Library’s existing staff will be given new roles; Lobby Attendant, Holds Attendant and Computer Lab Attendant.  The Library Board is pleased to report that by reallocating existing staff to perform these new duties, the Library’s 2020 budget will remain neutral,” said CEO Tammy Robinson.

The computer lab attendant will remain on duty in the computer lab – which has been moved to the first floor – not only to assist patrons but also ensure each station is properly cleaned at the end of each session.

More information is on the library’s Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as on their website.
