Cobourg Fire Department Responds To Brush Fire

Cobourg firefighters attended a brush fire on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Cobourg Fire Department responded to the end of Buchanan Street to a large brush fire.

Construction crews working south of where the fire started noticed the flames and tried their best to control the fire.

There is an opening to Sutherland Crescent in the area where the fire started. A number of items including remnants of a plastic chair and couch were also on fire.

Wearing breathing apparatus fire crews worked in the 30 degree Celsius heat.

No cause of the fire, but Cobourg Police were notified.
