In Local

Three motorcyclists were sent to hospital following a collision on County Road 2 in Alnwick/Haldimand Township on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. emergency services responded to County Road 2, west of Townline Road for two motorcycles involved in a collision.

A group of motorcyclists were heading eastbound along County Road when it’s believed one of the motorcycles went off the roadway, struck a number of guide posts. The motorcycle went down a ditch and the driver was found approximately 20 feet from where the motorcycle landed.

Another motorcycle following may have been hit by one of the guide posts sending that motorcycle crashing along the roadway.

Members of the Northumberland County Paramedics and Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department treated the injured on scene before being transported to hospital.

Two people have serious, but non-life threatening injuries and one person had minor injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately one hour.
