Northumberland OPP – Cocaine, Fentanyl Seized

Members from the Northumberland/Peterborough Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three individuals in relation to an on-going drug trafficking investigation.

On Thursday June 11, 2020 members of the CSCU with the assistance from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act warrant at a residence on George Street in the town of Brighton.

Investigators seized quantities of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, a spring loaded knife and other drug trafficking related items.

Nicole SWAN (age 45) of Brighton, Ontario, and William GOHEEN (age 58) of Quinte West, Ontario, were arrested and each charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
Failure to comply with undertaking

Paul HELM (age 48) of Brighton, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
All three accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on August 19, 2020.
