Northumberland Emergency Services Get Helpful Donation From Canadian Tire

In Community, Local

Emergency Services from Northumberland County received a generous donation of sanitizer from Canadian Tire on Thursday, April 23, 2020.

Cobourg Fire Department Chief Fire Prevention Officer Aaron Blair (left), Canadian Tire franchise owner Peter Puglia, Canadian Tire General Manager Francois Berube and Northumberland County Paramedic Deputy Chief Susan Brown.

“It’s our way of showing our appreciation for first responders,” said Puglia.

A total of seven buckets were donated to the Cobourg Fire Department, Northumberland County Paramedics, Cobourg Police Service, Northumberland Hills Hospital and the Golden Plough Lodge.

“We have received a tremendous amount of support from our residents and businesses throughout this emergency,” said Blair.

“I sincerely believe that our community has really pulled together to help each other get through this.”

Blair said the combined community effort will beat COVID-19.

“The emergency agencies in our area have always had a great working relationship with each other and our local businesses. Having that networking system already in place has really made it easier to operate and function during this emergency.”

“On behalf of the Cobourg Fire Department, Northumberland Paramedic Services, Cobourg Police Services, and the Northumberland Hills Hospital, I would say thank you to the staff at Canadian Tire in Cobourg for your generous donation.”

Later in the day, Puglia handed a cheque for $5,000 to Northumberland County Food Security Manager Rob O’Neil for Northumberland County’s Food 4 All warehouse
