Cobourg Police – Arrest Leads to the Execution of a Drug Search Warrant

As part of an ongoing enhanced enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity affecting our community and the safety of our citizens, Uniform Officers of the Cobourg Police Service arrested a male for breaching the conditions of a court release. A short time later with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Branch, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant was executed at the male’s residence on Division Street, in Cobourg.

Peter GRIEVE, 45 years old of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following:

1. Fail to Comply with recognizance Contrary to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

2. Fail to Comply with recognizance Contrary to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

3. Fail to Comply with recognizance Contrary to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

4. Fail to Comply with recognizance Contrary to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

5. Possession of a schedule 1 substance –Cocaine – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

6. Possession of a schedule 1 substance –Fentanyl- Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

7. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine – Contrary to section 5(2) of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

8. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Further Charges are pending against the accused and the press release will be updated when appropriate.
