Port Hope – Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Statement Regarding COVID-19 Pandemic

In Local

Like other organizations across the country, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) is closely monitoring the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada and around the world, and is taking measures to ensure the health and safety of its employees and the general public.

A Pandemic Planning Committee made up of health and safety representatives and senior executives is working to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 across our sites and local communities, while ensuring the continuity of our operations.

Based on the committee’s direction, the CNL Port Hope head office located at 25 Henderson Street is closed to the public. This is part of the international social distancing initiative that CNL has endorsed.

Property owners, business partners, realtors and the general public are encouraged to connect with us via email at info@phai.ca or by phone at 905.885.0291. Enquiries and concerns will be addressed in the shortest possible time.

We recognize that COVID-19 continues to spread quickly around the globe and throughout Canadian communities, and we are prepared to adjust our plans as the situation evolves. In the meantime, CNL will continue to follow the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Government of Canada and the provincial health authorities to ensure our COVID-19 prevention measures align with public health directives and protocols.

At this time, we will be suspending all in-person meetings with contractors, property owners and members of the public. Only limited outdoor work will continue in some areas of the community.
Work involving direct contact with property owners is also being suspended. This includes onsite inspections, tests and meetings.

CNL will continue to provide updates on phai.ca as this situation continues to change.
