Peterborough County OPP – Vehicle Collides with Pedestrian on County Road 28

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision on County Road 28 near Cedar Valley Road last night at approximately 9:15pm.

A vehicle travelling northbound on County Road 28 collided with a pedestrian that was walking on the roadway. The pedestrian has died as a result of the collision. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Jackie-Lynn FORD (age 30) from Peterborough, Ontario.

The deceased will be transported to The Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Se rvices and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post mortem examination.

All lanes of County Road 28 were closed while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The road is now open.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP at (705
