Breaking News – No Injuries After House Fire In Cobourg

Damage is estimated in excess of $75,000 after a house fire in Cobourg on Friday, February 28, 2020.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:05 p.m. to 311 College Street to reports of a possible structure fire.

When crews arrived the elderly occupant of the home was standing by her garage door with smoke inside the garage.

Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters entered the home and quickly extinguished the blaze which was in the basement.

Captain Chris Brown said there was moderate to heavy smoke inside the basement that permeated throughout the two storey home.

Damage is estimated in excess of $75,000 and firefighters are still investigating to determine a cause.
