Two People Taken Into Custody Following Routine Traffic Stop In Cobourg

Two people were taken into custody following a vehicle stop in Cobourg on Thursday, December 27, 2019.

Shortly before 3 p.m. a Mercedes was pulled over in the rear parking lot of 100 King Street West in downtown Cobourg.

The vehicle was originally pulled over in regards to possible open liquor inside the vehicle.

But a search of the vehicle found numerous items including illegal drugs, scales, syringes, cell phones and two people were taken into custody.

Police used numerous evidence bags packaging the items.

Cobourg Police stated they would be releasing more information on Friday, December 27, 2019.
