Northumberland OPP – Two Charged with Alcohol Related Offences in Northumberland County

On Saturday December 14, 2019 at approximately 1:18 am, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a female passed out in the driver’s seat a running vehicle.

Police located the vehicle. After a brief interaction, officers determined the driver was impaired. Chelsea WILSON (age 25) of Port Hope, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 15, 2020.

On Monday December 16, 2019 at approximately 10:39 pm, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a grey Toyota motor vehicle that was described as travelling at inconsistent speeds, swerving and unable to stay within a marked lane.

Officers observed the vehicle and stopped it on County Rd 23 south of Pipeline Rd. As a result of the traffic stop, Kirk VANDEWALKER (age 46) of Cramahe, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 22, 2020.
