Port Hope Police – Man Charged with Assault

A 25 year old Port Hope man is facing charges of assault and mischief after Port Hope Police officers responded to a domestic dispute in the early morning of December 8th .

Police arrived on scene at the residence in the Municipality’s west end and located two individuals in the driveway.

An investigation was commenced whereby officers received information regarding an assault that occurred earlier at the same location.

Police allege the man assaulted his girlfriend during an argument and further damaged someone of her personal property.

He was subsequently arrested for the allegation.

He was later released with a court date and conditions. Police will not identify the man to protect the identity of the victim.

There was no apparent injury to the victim as a result of the assault.
