Cobourg Police – Domestic Assault and Assault Police

On Sunday November 17th, 2019 Police were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call at an address in the downtown core of Cobourg. Police attended and discovered a domestic assault had taken place.

The victim advised Police she was thrown to the ground by the accused. The accused then stated they were going to kill the victim. Police arrested the accused and during the arrest, the accused spit in the face of one of the arresting officers’ faces.

Police have charged a Cobourg man with:
1. Assault (Spousal) – contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada and 2. Utter Threats to Cause Death – contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada 3. Assault Police Officer – contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear – Officer in Charge Undertaking with Conditions.

The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
