Breaking News – Act of Vandalism At Henley Arcade Promotes Violence

In Local, Police Blotter

Cobourg Police are investigating after someone painted numerous stencils in Henley’s Arcade overnight promoting the shooting of meth dealers.

Six stencils were discovered in two areas of Henley’s Arcade on Saturday, October 19, 2019 and read, “shoot your local meth dealer.”

Local businessman and councillor Adam Bureau stated “painting something like this anywhere isn’t the way to tackle this problem.”

Cobourg is not immune to the problem of drugs and opioids, and the phrase appears to have been done on a stencil, then spray painted with red paint in different areas of the arcade.

“Promoting violence is not the way to tackle this problem and it’s also defacing municipal property which will be a cost to the taxpayer. This will not help anybody.”

“Somebody took the time to do this and they should be charged.”

If anyone has any information they are asked to call Cobourg Police or CrimeStoppers.
