Northumberland United Way Launches the Angus Read 50th Anniversary Leadership Challenge

In Community, Upcoming Events

In celebration of its 50 years in Northumberland County, Northumberland United Way is thrilled to announce the Angus Read 50th Anniversary Leadership Challenge.

Angus Read was a true community builder; a retired military officer who lived all over the world and chose Cobourg as his community for retirement. He worked tirelessly for his community and fifty years ago Angus was the very first Campaign Chair at Northumberland United Way. Please join us today in honouring his commitment to making the community better for everyone by making a leadership gift to Northumberland United Way in celebration of our 50th year.

If you are making a first-time donation of $1,200 or more to Northumberland United Way, or increase your current leadership donation by more than 10 per cent to Northumberland United Way, the Angus Read Leadership Challenge will provide up to $50,000 to match your gift, dollar for dollar.

“The Leadership Giving program at United Way is a significant part of our annual campaign, and with this new Challenge, made possible by the estate of Angus Read, these dollars will go even further,” says Bobbie Dawson, Executive Director, Northumberland United Way. “Overall, it will double the impact of your donation at the leadership level and help us to raise $100,000 to make our community great for everyone.”

“At United Way, each and every gift we receive is important, and the ripple effect of the impact of these donations is felt throughout our community. The needs in our community are great and donations are needed now more than ever,” says Bobbie.

Leadership donors are a group of dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in their local community and are critical to the work of United Way helping to support over 26,000 people across Northumberland County. Your donation could mean that a family member accesses the mental health services they need; an aging parent gains confidence participating in recreational activities; and a child has healthier food options to fuel their learning.

By donating $1,200 or more, you will double the impact of your investment with the Angus Read Leadership Challenge. Your leadership donation will help to make your community great for everyone.

Please join us in showing your local love for your community. Take the Angus Read 50th Anniversary Leadership Challenge. Donate today. Double your impact. Double your local love.
