Northumberland Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month 2019

Hispanic Cultural Club (NHCC), launched the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, with a ceremony on Thursday, October 3 at the Colborne Art Gallery.

The art exhibition: Holding on to our beliefs: Immigration and Religion is the beginning of a series of Hispanic cultural events, that NHCC has designed for this year 2019.

“This is our second year of celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in Northumberland. We are very proud to show you our music, art, food and our beliefs,” said Mario Pareja, President of NHCC.

Hispanic Heritage Activities in Northumberland are as follow:
Art and Heritage Exhibitions: Holding on to our beliefs: Immigration and Religion, October 4 to December 8, at the Colborne Art Gallery, Heritage Room. Admission is free.
Northumberland Hispanic Film Festival: Selected films from Latin America, never seen in Canada. October 17, 18 and 19 at the Loft Cinema.

Concert: Teresa Carreño: Ahead of Her Time, a Venezuelan composer of piano, voice, choir and orchestra. October 11, 6 pm. at Victoria Concert Hall, under the direction of Mitchel Cox with the Tak Kwan String Quartet.

Noche Latina: Featuring Latin food, dance and music with LatinTrain and DJ Alejo. October 26, at Victoria Concert Hall.

Workshop: Cross-Cultural References: Understanding the Hispanic Culture. October 22, at 600 William Street, Cobourg.
