In Community

A special meeting of The Senate took place at the Dutch Oven on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Cobourg.

The Senate is the name known locally in Cobourg to a group of friends who have been meeting for decades at The Dutch Oven in the mornings to start their day.

On Wednesday, the special event was for member Jim Gordon who was celebrating his 90th birthday.

Piper Ross McKie helped in the celebrations by playing “Happy Birthday” accompanied by Harry Knapper who was carrying a gift bag for Gordon.

A birthday cake was presented by staff and before blowing out the candle, Gordon’s wish was that his friends are all healthy and well.
