The Concert Band of Cobourg celebrated the Battle of Plattsburgh ceremonies over the weekend in Plattsburgh, New York.

The Concert Band of Cobourg, also known as the Royal Marines Association Band of Ontario has been invited for the festivities for 18 years.

The Battle of Plattsburgh (also known as the Battle of Lake Champlain) was a joint land and naval invasion of upper New York State and the last major British operation of the War of 1812 (not including the battles after the Treaty of Ghent).

The Concert Band of Cobourg/Royal Marines Association Band of Ontario represent the British for the weekend.

After the parade through downtown Plattsburgh on Saturday, September 14, 2019, there is a ceremony called Beat Retreat in which a number of the bands perform. Joining the ceremonies were pipers Mary Ito and Michael Beech from the Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums along with members of the Hastings and Prince Edward Corps 88.

The Concert Band of Cobourg also performs every year following the parade at the Strand Theatre in Plattsburgh. During the evening, traditionally, the mayors of Cobourg and Plattsburgh exchange gifts.
