Fun In The Sun At The Annual Waterfront Festival In Cobourg

In Community, Local

So far it’s been fun in the sun at the annual Waterfront Festival in Cobourg.

From thrilling rides to works of art, there is something for everyone and unlike the weather we have been accustomed too, it’s been gorgeous since the festival started.

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Dereck Babcock and his daughter Paige (age 13) brought their two family pets to the Festival.

Babcock said the family has 19 snakes in their Trenton home, but only brought two to walk around the festival on Saturday.

The reaction when most people see them is very positive.

“Kids just love them,” said Babcock.

And sure enough, within a few minutes a number of children surrounded the father and daughter to ask about them.

The father and daughter were more than happy to talk about their four-foot long Ball Python and the five foot long Brazilian Rainbow Boa.

Over at the Midway people were having a blast on the thrill rides and games, and while at the Rotary Arts and Crafts tents there was lots to see including making a hammock, original wax candle creations and of course the unique bird houses.
