OPP Execute Search Warrants In Alnwick/Haldimand Township

Beginning in February of this year members of the Peterborough/ Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into a drug trafficking investigation.

On Wednesday May 15, 2019 during the early morning hour’s OPP specialty units from Central Region and East Region and CSCU team members from Haliburton Highlands, Orillia, and Nottawasaga assisted with executing five Controlled Drugs and Substance Warrants involving four rural areas within Alnwick-Haldimand Township and one motor vehicle.

As a result of the CDSA search warrants the following items were seized:

· 29 grams of Fentanyl
· 81 grams of Cocaine
· 5 grams of Methamphetamine
· 130 Hydromorphone Tablets
· 85 OxyContin (80 mgs)
· 7.5 pounds of processed vacuum sealed marihuana
· Radio Frequency Interference Detectors (RFI)
· Surveillance Cameras
· Cash, and a
· White SUV

Total street value of the seized drugs is worth approximately $49,950.

Tyler David Joseph HOCKNEY (age 32) and Jamee Lin WARD (age 31) both from Alnwick-Haldimand Township, Ontario were arrested and each charged with:

· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin) – (three counts)
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
· Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
· Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

Jamie WARD was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on May 29, 2019
Tyler HOCKNEY was held in custody for bail court hearing on May 15, 2019 in Cobourg.
