Northumberland OPP – Human Remains Found In Trent Hills Identified

Located Person Identified as Missing Area Woman

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the discovery of human remains in the area of County Road 50 in a wooded area of a park north of Campbellford.
A post mortem examination was conducted by the Forensic Pathology Unit at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto. The remains have been identified as Nicole SMITH, 25-years-old of Campbellford, Ontario.
The investigation remains ongoing with members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Brad Robson, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
