Mitchell Kicks Off Organ Donor Awareness Month

In Community, Local

David Mitchell is one who truly knows the meaning of “donor.”
In fact, without it, he wouldn’t be alive.
Mitchell suffered a heart attack in 2015 and was given a heart transplant. He’s alive today because of his wife who performed CPR, quick response of emergency services, medical staff and because of someone signed their donor card.
April is Organ Donor Awareness Month and Mitchell along with his wife Stephanie, and his parents Stephanie and Steve were on hand to raise the Be A Donor flag at the Northumberland County building in Cobourg on April 1, 2019 with the help of Northumberland County Warden John Logel.
Mitchell has been a strong advocate getting everyone to sign their donor cards on the driver’s license and will be speaking throughout April at various locations in Northumberland County.
Up to eight people can be saved through signing a donor card.
