Shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 emergency services responded to the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at the County Road 30 overpass in Brighton to reports of a tanker truck that had rolled over. The transport was heading in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 when it hit the median wall. The tanker truck separated from the cab portion and rolled into the westbound lanes of the highway. Luckily no other vehicles were involved. The tanker truck was carrying 34,000 kilograms of basic road tar which was leaking out in several areas of the tanker. A crane was called in, and tar which was still in the tank was pumped out. But Highway 401 westbound at Brighton was shut down for most of the day. The driver was not injured.
