Minor Problems Following High Winds In The Cobourg Port Hope Area

In Local

It seems the lake shore area of Cobourg and Port Hope seemed to get away with no serious issues following the high wind warnings starting on Sunday, February 24 and going into Monday February 25, 2019.

There was minor flooding in some areas including Theatre Road, but works crews kept on top of things.

In the area of Midtown Mall on Division Street, Cobourg Police cordoned off an area where the top part of the sign was hanging after being ripped apart by the wind.  After a short time the piece fell to the ground.

An IDA Pharmacy sign was damaged nearby and at Northumberland Mall a few sheets of metal panels were ripped off, but workers managed to safety remove them.

On Monk Street a porta-potty was flipped over, with hopefully no one inside.
