Having A Blast At Special Needs Shinny In Port Hope

In Community, Hockey

It was hard to tell who was having more fun on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Special Needs Shinny at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.

Both the players and volunteers were having a great time showing their hockey skills on the ice.

Organizer Sarah Orr said this year has been a dream for the children who have come out along with the parents who have watched them improve each week.

“I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped out and especially (Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture) Jim McCormack who has been fully supportive of Special Needs Shinny from the start.”

Special Needs Shinny takes place each Sunday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
