Durham Police – Firearms, Drugs and Cash Seized in Oshawa

Four firearms and over $200,000 in drugs and cash were seized during a traffic stop in Oshawa Friday night.
On Friday, November 2, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of Ritson Road near Dean Avenue in Oshawa. The vehicle was stopped and during the investigation, drugs, guns and Canadian currency were located inside the vehicle. Police located 34 pounds of cannabis, cocaine, two loaded handguns, two loaded shotguns and just over $50,000 in Canadian currency. Both occupants were arrested.
Dylan CADIEUX-DACOSTA, age 19, of Ontario Street in Clarington and Amber CADIEUX, age 43, of Birchview Drive in Oshawa are both charged with numerous gun and drug-related offences including: Possess Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling; Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine); Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000; Careless Storage of Firearm x4; Contravention of a Storage Regulation x4; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 4; Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized x4; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x4; Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x2; Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With and Possession of Firearm Obtained by Crime. Both were held for a bail hearing.
