Port Hope Police Police Administer Naloxone at Overdose Scene Reviving Woman

On the 26th of October shortly before 11:00 pm emergency services were called to a Walton Street residence as a result of an unconscious female. Two Port Hope Police officers were the first to arrive on scene and found a 24 year old woman with vital signs absent. Information was received the woman and a man in the house were ingesting opioids when the woman fell unconscious. One Police officer administered a dose of Narcan naloxone spray and commenced life saving measures. After a few minutes officers administered a second dose of Narcan Spray to the woman and continued CPR. Fire officials arrived on scene and assisted Police. When Paramedics arrived on scene the woman was conscious and breathing. The woman and a man were transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital by ambulance for treatment. It is believed the opioid was fentanyl.
