Durham Region – Suspects Wanted After Thefts from Burial Plots In Whitby

Police are looking to identify suspect(s) after over 100 brass vases were stolen from burial plots in Whitby last week.

Sometime between Wednesday, October 3, 2018 and Saturday, October 6, 2018, a large quantity of brass vases were stolen from burial plots at Mount Lawn Cemetery located on Garrard Road in Whitby. The suspects entered the property and made off with several hundred vases. There is no suspect(s) descriptors at this time.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in trying to identify the suspect(s).

Anyone with new information about this incident is asked to call D/Cst. VanBelleghem of Central West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1854.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
