24th Annual Coats For Kids Begins

Coats for Kids: The basics
This is the 24th annual campaign, and while the program has its primary target of ‘coats’ and ‘kids’, we accept any related articles such as mitts, hats, boots, etc. We also accept and distribute adult clothing and accessories. When folks come in to access items for their children they can perhaps gain a warmer coat for themselves if they need it.
Tim Hortons is once again giving $2 gift cards to those who donate a coat this year.
Donations should be good, clean used items, with no tears on the outside of the lining and have working zippers. Winter clothing will be distributed between Oct. 10 and Oct. 31 by the Salvation Army.
The donated coats are cleaned at Baker Cleaners, and donated boots are sanitized at Beebe Boot Shop Ltd.
Donations are being accepted at:
– The Salvation Army Church, 59 Ballantine St., Cobourg, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
– The Salvation Army Community and Family Services office, 66 Swayne St., Cobourg, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
– The Salvation Army Community and Family Services, 100 Peter St., Port Hope, Mondays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to noon.
– Northumberland United Way, 62 Swayne St., Cobourg, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Port Hope Northumberland Community Health Centre, 99 Toronto Rd., Port Hope, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Canadian Tire, 1125 Elgin St. W, Cobourg, Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– Baker Cleaners, 12 Elgin St. E., Cobourg, Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– We Fix U, 727 William St., Cobourg, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 125 Toronto Rd., Port Hope, Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– Community Care Northumberland, 1005 Elgin St. W., Suite 203, Cobourg, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 151 Rose Glen Rd., Port Hope, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Beebe Boot Shop Ltd., 33 King St. W., Cobourg, boots only and during regular shopping hours
