David Piccini, M.P.P. for Northumberland – Peterborough South was joined by Michael Parsa, Parliamentary Assistant, Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade last Friday for a round table with local businesses. The meeting to discuss red tape and the regulatory burden facing small businesses was held at Venture 13 in Cobourg and was attended by over 40.
“The Government of Ontario’s number one priority is ensuring Ontario is open for business,” said Piccini. “Part of doing this, is ensuring we sit down with our local businesses to tackle the regulatory burdens they are facing and look to ways we, as Government, can better support them.”
“I am please to join my friend and colleague, David Piccini,” said Parsa. “We are glad to be in Northumberland – Peterborough South for one of the first round table sessions, kicking-off our cross province consultation. These meetings are part of a series of roundtables Ontario’s Government is conducting to support our job creators and ensure Ontario is open for businesses.”
The two began the day at Burnham Family Farm, where they had focused discussions with members of the Agriculture community, the number one employer in Northumberland – Peterborough South. They then went on to Venture 13 where they had the sit down round-table with a number of local businesses.
The Government of Ontario is also continuing to take action in restoring trust and accountability in the public finances by launching three-week public consultations asking Ontarians for direct feedback on how to better deliver government programs and services. Through this consultation, Ontarians will have the opportunity to rank the importance and effectiveness of a range of government services.
