Northumberland OPP – Female From Alberta Arrested for Over .80

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On August 19, 2018 the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 westbound near the Grafton area just after 7 p.m. A green Toyota pick-up truck was reported to be all over the road and unable to drive in a marked lane.

Julie Anne Williams (age 31) of Edmonton, Alberta was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and charged with:

  • Care or control of a vehicle while impaired
  • Care or control of a vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

She was released, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on September 5, 2018.

The Northumberland OPP want to remind motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol, use a designated driver, utilize a cab or public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
