A 43-year-old Richmond Hill woman was killed and her 3-year-old daughter remains in critical condition as they were passengers in a Grey Toyota S.U.V. that was involved in a three-vehicle collision on Raglan Road, west of Thornton Road in Oshawa last night.

On Saturday August 25, 2018 at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers from the  Central West Division were called to the scene of a three-vehicle collision involving a grey Toyota S.U.V., a grey Toyota Corolla and a white Jeep Cherokee. Witnesses state the grey S.U.V. was westbound on Raglan Road when it drifted over and sideswiped the eastbound Toyota Corolla. The S.U.V. lost control and spun into the path of a White Jeep Cherokee that was behind the Toyota Corolla eastbound.

The female passenger in the Toyota S.U.V.  was V.S.A. at the scene and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. Her three-year-old female child in the rear car seat sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Toyota S.U.V. was arrested at the scene for Impaired Driving. The  other involved  drivers and occupants sustained minor injuries.

Members of the Durham Regional Police Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the collision scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
