Northumberland OPP – Colborne Woman Faces Charge of Impaired Driving

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On Friday July 20, 2018 just after 8:30 a.m. a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Barnum House Road just west of Grafton ON, in Alnwick-Haldimand Township. The officer determined that the female driver of the silver hatchback sedan was operating it while under the influence of alcohol.

As a result, police arrested and charged 61 year-old Catherine Pritchard of Colborne, Ontario with care or control of a vehicle while impaired, and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had the vehicle towed and impounded. She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg Ontario on August 15, 2018.

The Northumberland OPP want to remind motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol, use a designated driver, utilize a cab or public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
