Coast Guard Assists Stranded Sailboat

In Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

Just moments after returning to post from saving a swimmer, the crew of the Cape Mercy were called to a 55′ sailboat that ran aground in Cobourg harbour on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
It appeared the sailboat was trying to leave Cobourg Harbour when it ran aground on the shallow shoreline near the mouth of the harbour.
A crew from the Cape Mercy pulled the vessel off the shoreline and within a short time the sailboat and crew were on their way for a day of sailing.
