Stand-up paddle boarding has come to Port Hope
Owner of Spraoi Yoga located at 110 Walton Street, Tania Ring has leased out the marina building at the bottom of Mill Street South from the Municipality of Port Hope.
Spraio Sup is open during regular business hours offering stand-up paddle boarding along with stand-up paddle boarding yoga classes.
Stand-up paddle boarding was originated in Hawaii, but has since taken off in waters around the world.
“Water is one of nature’s most plentiful ways to rejuvenate the mind and the soul,” said Ring.
The sport strengthens muscles, increases flexibility and helps with balance.
Ring says, “come find your centre in the best environment imaginable.”
Port Hope Director of Parks and Recreation Jim McCormack said the business woks very well with the municipality.
“It’s excellent.”
“We have a really good relationship with the business and she’s great to work with the community. I think it’s a great partnership and we’re looking to hopefully extending that beyond this year.”
With the marina building being leased, the boat launch is a pay and display now.
“People can launch their boats and park their vehicles and trailers there will be a pay and display machine located at the fish cleaning station.
