Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

A 25-year-old Peterborough female is facing several driving related charges stemming from an incident that occurred in the north end of Peterborough on June 28, 2018.

The Peterborough Police received information about a vehicle driving erratically, disobeying traffic signals and passing aggressively. The vehicle was subsequently located and during the search a small quantity of marihuana was located.

As a result of the investigation, Katelyn White was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail of Refuse to Provide a Sample and Possession of a Schedule II Substance (cannabis).

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court on July 19, 2018.

 

Bail Violations

A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges for breaching conditions of his bail.

On June 29, 2018, an officer on general patrol observed a male known to him to be bound by a curfew condition as a result of a previous release.

As a result of the investigation, Roland Ferguson was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance.

Ferguson was released from custody and will appear in Court on July 19, 2018.

 

Domestic Incident

A 21-year-old Peterborough male is facing several charges in relation to a domestic related incident.

On June 30, 2018 while at a downtown establishment, the accused held a knife to his partner’s neck. While being removed from the establishment, the male was observed to have the knife opened in his hand.

As a result of the police investigation, the male was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Fail to Comply with a Probation Order x 2 and Possession of a Schedule III Substance (Psilocybin).

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Domestic Arrest/Assault Police

A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred on July 1, 2018.

While the accused was in his matrimonial home, he proceeded to assault his partner by punching her in the face and pulling her hair. Members of the Peterborough Police attended at the residence and were assaulted by the accused while attempting to affect an arrest.

The accused was transported to the Peterborough Police Service where he proceeded to threaten an officer while being booked into the station.As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with Assault (Spousal), Mischief Under $5000, Assault a Police Officer and Uttering Threats.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

 

Breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking

A 59-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after being located in downtown Peterborough breaching conditions of a previous release.

On June 29, 2018 staff at a downtown business contacted police regarding an intoxicated male located on their property.

A member of the Peterborough Police Service attending and located the male who was bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking to remain away from the property.

As a result of the investigation, Robert Stewart was charged with Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge.

Stewart was released from custody and will appear in Court on July 26, 2018.

 

Domestic Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough man has been charged following a domestic incident that occurred on in the early morning hours of July 2, 2018.

The Peterborough Police Service attended a Peterborough address and learned that the male had damaged the victim’s door and had assaulted and threatened her.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with Assault (Spousal), Utter Threats, Mischief Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
