Northumberland Makers Open House And Summer Camp

In Community, Local

The Northumberland Makers held an open house at the Venture 13 building on Saturday displaying a number of their products and inventions.
Northumberland Makers are a group of people who are a community of creators, innovators and makers with a goal of improving access to tools, technology and expertise in Northumberland County.
Vice President of Northumberland Makers, Colin Slade said the group has approximately 50 members.
“The Maker Lab is part of the Venture 13 building so during the day it’s used for developing and prototyping electronics and projects.”
“In the evening the Northumberland Makers have the lab to use as a “maker” organization so we are involved in electronics, education, robotics, 3-D printing, circuit board printing a whole extreme of things to engage the community.”
The open house on Saturday was a chance to give the public a look at how easily and quickly they can learn and use technology they are unfamiliar with and create things that are only limited by their imagination.
