Durham Region – Kayaker Dies on Lake Simcoe

A male kayaker was found deceased by citizens on Lake Simcoe Sunday evening.

On Sunday, June 17, 2018 at approximately 7:55 p.m., emergency services were called to Shoreline Road and Regional Road 9 in Brock Township. Citizens were walking their dogs when they discovered the victim on the shoreline of Lake Simcoe along with his yellow kayak.

The 60-year-old male from Toronto was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
