Assault arrest:

A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges including assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose following a Monday night incident.

On June 18, 2018 at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Stewart Street for an assault. It was reported that while the female victim was at a residence the accused assaulted the victim and brandished a kitchen knife and threatened the victim. The accused and the victim know of each other. The accused then fled the residence.

Officers located the accused walking in the area of Dalhousie and Stewart Streets where, as a result of the investigation, he was placed under arrest. During the investigation the accused also threatened an officer.

Chad Michael Clarke, 36, of Brock Street, is charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm X2
  • Fail to comply with a probation order X2

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (June 19).

 

Trespassing at night Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 30-year-old man with trespassing at night following an investigation.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on June 18, 2018 officers on patrol in the area of Bethune and King Streets observed a male going between residences. When the male noticed the police vehicle he fled the area on a bicycle later leaving the bicycle and fleeing on foot. Officers searched the area and found the man concealing himself in an alley.

As a result of the investigation Daniel John Laundry, 30, of Park Street South, was arrested and charged with trespassing at night and fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19, 2018.

 

Domestic assault Arrest:

A 27-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged with domestic assault following a Monday afternoon incident.

On June 18, 2018 police received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a verbal dispute taking place outside a Peterborough residence where the citizen reported observing the accused assault the male victim.

Officers attended the area and as a result of the investigation the accused was placed under arrest and charged with assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 19, 2018.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
