Update – Robbery Suspect Sought

Arrests Made

(BRIGHTON, ON) -On Friday May 25, 2018 the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at the CIBC bank on Main Street in Brighton.

Investigators determined that a lone male entered the bank at 3:08 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money. T he employee complied and the suspect left the bank fleeing in a blue pickup truck last seen travelling westbound on Main Street. No weapon was seen and the truck, described as a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, was located shortly after the robbery abandoned behind a nearby church west of the bank.

On June 7, 2018 members of the Provincial R.O.P.E. Squad (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) arrested two suspects in connection with the Brighton robbery incident. A male and female were arrested in the Havelock area (Peterborough County) while in possession of a vehicle reported stolen in Halton Region earlier in the day. Police seized several items as a result of the arrest including a ‘stun gun’, a collapsible baton and break & enter instruments.

 

Andrew Aaron LAMORE age 33 of No Fixed Address is charged with:

 

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000 (two counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Break-in Instruments
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle

 

  • LAMORE was held for a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on June 8, 2018.

 

  • Marcie Lea HAASE age 29 of Mississauga, Ontario is charged with:
  • Pos session of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000
  • Possession of Break-in Instruments
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

 

  • HAASE was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on July 18, 2018.

 

  • Both accused remain under investigation in several jurisdictions.
